Booking Process

Accepted Answer

To book me, it's a really simple process:

1. Email/message me to receive a quote for your booking. Send over as much information as possible in your initial email. I will need to know - how long you'd like me to play for, where I'm playing, and if I need to provide my own equipment.

2. I will get back to you with a quote. This is a no obligation quote so no pressure to book me. If this price is out of your budget,  let me know what your budget is and I can see what I can offer you for that price.

3. Happy to go ahead with the price? Great! Let's get it booked in. To secure the date,  I will need a 25-50% deposit, depending on the total amount of the booking. This deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE so please make sure you definitely want to book me before you pay the deposit...I can't return it if you choose to book somebody else. I will then send you an invoice with my bank details on, for you to send the deposit over.

4. Deposit is received and booking is secure. You will tell me any songs you would like me to learn, or any songs you'd like me to play from my repertoire.

5. 1 week before I will get in touch and remind you of the outstanding balance and confirm how you will be paying this. This can either be paid in cash on the day, or by bank transfer before.

6. Your event is here! The day will run smoothly and stress-free for you. I'll liaise with the venue using the details you have provided me with, to ensure I'm setup in the right place and ready to go!

Question 2

Set Length

Customisable set lengths to fully suit your needs.

With a minimum playing time of 30 minutes* and a maximum playing time of 6 hours, you can pick and choose my set lengths to suit your day.

Standard set is 2 x 45 minute sets with a 15 minute break.

*minimum fee will be charged if set time is shorter than my standard playing time. This ensures the gig is worth my travel & time.

Question 3

Song Choice

Ensure that I play the songs that mean something to you.

With a repertoire of over 200 songs, it's very likely that I will play some of your favourite songs.

Can learn 2 new songs free of charge, any song after this will be £25 per song.

Feel free to pick and choose my entire set list, or leave it up to me! Together we can pick your favourite songs, and formulate a smooth well flowing setlist, and avoid any potentially awkward songs that you'd rather I didn't play!

(you might not want to hear a song at your wedding that your ex used to play all the time...)​

Question 4

Equipment

Make your event as easy for you as possible.

I can provide a variety of different setups to suit your needs. The only thing I'll need from you and your venue is a plug!

Allen and Heath Zed 10FX Mixer
SM58 Microphone
Wireless In Ear Monitor System
Taylor GS Mini-e Koa

A second speaker can be supplier for an additional cost to increase the volume for larger venues.

This setup can be used in any configuration to compliment the venue. E.G. the venue may already have in-house speakers which I can link my setup to, to spread out the sound.

Question 5

Requests

Playing requests is one of my favourite things to do! At all of my gigs I will invite the audience to ask for requests, and will say something like:

"If you have any requests, feel free to come and ask me inbetween songs...If I know it I'll play it, and if I don't I won't"

All I ask is that it be respected if I don't know the song, unfortunately I'm not a jukebox!

Question 6

Travel

I am more than happy to travel anywhere in the UK (as long as it's reachable by car)

Local bookings within 5 miles are not subject to a travel fee.

Bookings that require further travel will be charged at 0.5p per mile from my home - e.g a venue is 20 miles from me. Travel cost will be £20 (40 mile round trip)

If you are booking me from somewhere that is too far away for me to drive, play and drive back sensibly within the same day there may be a small charge to cover a hotel for me for the night (just so I'm not driving 200 miles at midnight!) This will be something that will be discussed on a individual basis.

Question 7

On The Day!

On the day, it would be very much appreciated if you could arrange with the venue for me to have soft drinks & water whilst I play. If it's a long event it would be great if some form of food can be provided (just sandwiches is great!)

Again, these are all things that will be discussed with each booking.

Question 8

The boring stuff...

As a solo musician I am covered by £10m Public Liability Insurance, £2000 equipment insurance and all my equipment is PAT tested regularly.

If needed by the venue I can provide an up-to-date risk assessment and evidence of all insurance.

If your venue has a sound limiter this is something I can accomodate for.
